Stuffed peppers without rice

3 major red bell peppers,
1 pound ground beef,
Salt and pepper to taste,
Cheese for sprinkling, greens.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Remove and discard the tops, seeds, and membranes of the bell peppers.
Cut bell peppers into two halves.
In a bowl, mix the browned beef, salt, and pepper. Spoon an equal amount of the mixture into each hollowed pepper.
Cut tomato into slices and place it on top of each pepper.
Liberally sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven until the peppers are tender.
